How To Clean and Reassemble My PetSafe® FlexFeed Automatic Pet Feeder
Clean the Feeder
Unplug the feeder from the wall outlet.
Slide the two hopper latches toward the front of the feeder to unlock.
Remove the food hopper from the feeder base.
Unclip and remove the hopper lid.
Empty any food from the food hopper.
Open the compartment on the underside of the hopper lid and remove the Food Savor Pouches.
Important: Each Food Savor Pouch lasts up to 30 days; we recommend replacing this pouch each time you clean the feeder.
Turn the food hopper upside down.
Turn the chute cover on the bottom of the food hopper counterclockwise to unlock it and remove it.
Disconnect the food tray and bowl from the front of the feeder.
Wash the stainless-steel bowl by hand or in your dishwasher.
Hand-wash the lid, food hopper, chute cover, and food tray in warm soapy water.
Wipe the feeder base with a non-abrasive cloth.
Important: The feeder base contains electronic components and is not waterproof. Do not rinse the feeder base, submerge it in water, or spray it with cleaning solutions.
Allow all components to dry thoroughly before reassembling the feeder.
Reassemble the Feeder
Replace the food chute. The lock symbol on the chute must be aligned with the unlock symbol on the base.
Replace the food hopper on the base. Make sure the PetSafe® logo is facing forward and slide both hopper latches toward the lock position.
Fill the feeder with dry kibble. We recommend ¼ - inch to ½ - inch (5mmm-12mm) diameter. DO NOT use canned, moist, or wet food.
Turn the hopper lid over. Open the compartment on the underside of the lid. Remove one of the Food Savor Pouch from its outer packaging and place it into the compartment. Snap the compartment closed.
Important: To prevent mold and keep the feeder running smoothly, replace the Food Savor Pouch every 30 days.
Place the lid on the food hopper and fasten the clips to hold it in place.
Tilt the feeder backward and slide the food tray into place at its base. Lower the front of the feeder to secure the food tray.
Plug the feeder back into a wall outlet.
