How To Clean and Reassemble My PetSafe® ScoopFree® Crystal Plus Self-Cleaning Litter Box
Important Information
Regular monthly cleaning can reduce odor and extend the life of your litter box and litter trays.
Avoid using soaps, cleaners, or chemicals that have a strong odor or contain scents that are cat-repellant, like citrus, peppermint, etc.

Remove the old tray by lifting your ScoopFree® litter box from the front using the handle to an upright position and pull out the old tray. Remove the lid from under the tray and close it over the tray. Dispose of the old tray in your trash bin.

Remove the power adaptor.

Remove the waste trap cover by rotating it forward, then lift it straight up until it pops out of the notches on the litter box base.
Do not pull up one side at a time. Pulling one side up first can result in damage.

Clean the sensors. Even if the sensors look clean, wipe them with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to remove any film that may prevent the rake from working.

Open the rake covers and release the rake by rotating the rake clips toward the back of the litter box. Lift the rake straight up and out of the litter box. Then clean the rake with a sponge or a soft brush.

Wipe all surfaces on the litter box frame with a cloth or sponge using mild soap and water.
DO NOT use any soaps or cleaners that would leave residue on the sensors. DO NOT use bleach or chemicals to clean as they can act as a repellent to your cat.

Let all parts thoroughly dry.

Replace the waste trap cover by inserting the posts on the underside of the waste trap cover into the notches inside the front of the litter box frame.

Open the rake covers and install the rake with the horizontal bar facing the back. Ensure the rake is locked into place by rotating the clips toward the front and closing the rake covers.

Add a new litter tray. For more information, visit How To Change the Litter Tray in My PetSafe® ScoopFree® Crystal Plus Self-Cleaning Litter Box.
