How to Disassemble and Clean the PetSafe® Viva™ Fountain Pump
Remove the face plate from the front of the pump.
Pull the tube to remove the stator.
Remove the impeller by pulling up from underneath the white plastic. This piece is magnetic and will need gentle force to remove it.
Thoroughly clean inside the pump and all the pump pieces. Use a mild dish soap and warm water to clean. If there is mineral build-up, soak the parts in 50/50 water and white vinegar solution for at least 15 minutes before scrubbing.
Our Drinkwell® Fountain Cleaning Kit has a brush specially designed to clean inside the pump. The kit can be purchased through our website here.
Do not use bleach or any other harsh chemicals.
Once clean, reassemble the impellor, stator, and face plate.
