How to Remove the Flap on My PetSafe® 4-Way Locking Big Cat Door
Important Information
The flap on the 4-Way Locking Big Cat Door can be removed to convert it from a door to a pass-through opening.
The flap is not replaceable. If the flap is damaged, you will need to replace the entire cat door. Replacement doors can be purchased through our website here.
If you have already installed the cat door, uninstall the interior frame by removing the mounting screws with a Philips screwdriver.
Unlock the flap. Turn the right and left knobs to the upright position with the locks positioned away from the flap opening.
Open the flap completely to 90 degrees.
Insert your fingers in the gap between the flap and the frame. Apply pressure from your fingers on the flap, away from the frame. The flap will flex, allowing the pegs on either side to pop out of the frame.
If you removed the interior frame from your door, reinstall the frames. Otherwise, you can now install the cat door. For detailed instructions, visit our article How to Install the PetSafe® 4-Way Locking Big Cat Door.
