Understanding Your Harness
Straps
Neck Strap
Sits on your pet’s shoulders. Adjusts with slide buckles.
Girth Strap
Fits around your pet’s ribcage. Adjusts with slide buckles.
Handle
Provides extra control when on walks. Unhook from the loop to use as a vehicle restraint.
Leash Attachments
Back Leash Attachment
Connect a leash to use as a traditional harness.
Front Leash Attachment
Martingale loop provides a no-pull solution when walking.
Padding
Chest Plate
Provides additional padding for extra comfort.
Pouch
Padded storage pouch provides space to carry your essentials.
Fit Your Harness
Important: Fit the harness with your dog standing.
Unbuckle the girth straps. Place the harness over your dog’s head. The pouch will rest on his back.
Use the slide buckles to adjust the neck straps. The chest plate will sit on your dog’s breast bone.
Pull the girth straps through your dog’s front legs and buckle.
Adjust the girth straps using the slide buckle until the harness is snug. The pouch should rest on your dog’s back.
When fit properly, two fingers should barely fit between the skin and nylon strap. This prevents the harness from moving and chafing your dog’s skin.
Using the Pouch
Note: Pouch capacity will vary depending on the size of the harness.
Unhook the handle from the loop.
Unzip the pouch and place items inside.
Zip up the pouch and secure the handle in the loop.
Important: The pouch is not waterproof.
Leash Walking
Standard Harness Training
Attach a leash to the back attachment on the harness and walk your dog normally. If your dog begins to pull, try training with the front leash attachment.
No-Pull Training
The no-pull feature works by applying gentle pressure to your dog’s chest to redirect him back to position at your side.
To train your dog with the no-pull feature, attach the leash to the front martingale loop, then follow the instructions below.
Important: Never jerk or yank the leash.
Redirect your dog's attention by slowing down or stopping as soon as tension is felt on the leash.
Keep tension on the leash and guide your dog back to the proper position. To reward him, release the tension on the leash. Give rewards when your dog is walking politely beside you.
Vehicle Training
Acclimation times for training in the car vary with each dog. Put the harness on your dog and follow these instructions to help ensure your dog is comfortable in the car.
Start with short, 5-10 minute sessions in a parked car to introduce your dog to the harness. Give him time to acclimate to the restraint before driving the car in short sessions.
Have your dog hop in and out of your car and give treats while he is in the car until he is comfortable.
Sit with your pet and praise him while someone else drives.
Take longer drives once your dog is comfortable being in the car restrained.
Unhook the handle from the loop.
Run the seatbelt through the handle and buckle the seatbelt.
Reward with treats and praise until your dog is comfortable.
Note: Return handle to original position after exiting the vehicle.
