My Dog Chewed the PetSafe® Gentle Leader®

Important Information

The Gentle Leader® is a training headcollar and should never be left on your dog unattended. Remove the headcollar after each training session.

Proper Size and Fit

Using as a Regular Collar

If you are converting the headcollar to use as a traditional collar, the nose loop becomes an extension of the leash. We recommend sliding the snap clamp all the way up to the Center Bar to prevent the dog from chewing at the snap.

Chew Replacement

We guarantee the materials and workmanship of the Gentle Leader® Headcollar, but we can’t keep your dog from chewing it! Please be sure to supervise your dog while he wears the Gentle Leader® and store it safely when not in use. If your dog does chew the Gentle Leader®, we will happily replace it for a small fee. Please contact our Customer Care for details.

If you find the Gentle Leader® you purchased is not the best size for your dog, please have your dog’s measurements ready and contact us. Our customer care experts will be happy to assist with resizing to ensure you and your dog have the best walking experience.
