My PetSafe® Automatic Ball Launcher Distance is Wrong

Important Information

The ball launcher comes factory set to the lowest setting.

The distance settings are a guideline and not exact. The pressure in the balls used may affect the distance launched.

Make sure the ball launcher is on a flat, level surface.

Ensure you are using the appropriate size balls. The launcher is designed to use standard-size tennis balls that are 2 ⅝ inches in diameter.

Check that the ball is not wet. The ball can accumulate water from dew, the ground after rain, an accidental drop in a water bowl, and plenty of other ways. If the ball becomes wet, it is heavier and can cause reduced range when launching. Replace wet tennis balls with dry ones.

Check the settings. The knob that looks like a tennis ball controls the distance. When the knob is rotated all the way to the right, the distance is the shortest. To increase the distance, pull and rotate the knob to the left. For detailed information, visit our article How to Adjust My PetSafe® Automatic Ball Launcher.

If you are using batteries, ensure they have adequate power. If the batteries are low, the light on the launcher with flash red 3 times every 10 seconds. Replace the batteries with new ones or use the power adapter. For more information, visit our article How to Replace the Batteries in My PetSafe® Automatic Ball Launcher.
