My PetSafe® Outlast™ Fountain Motor is Not Working
Important Information
To conserve power and motor life, the fountain motor will slow down slightly at night when the room is dark and will speed up again during the day.
Check for Power
Ensure the fountain has power. When the fountain has sufficient water and is operating normally, the status light is off. You can set the status light to glow blue whenever the fountain is powered on. This will help you confirm if the fountain has power.
To turn the status light on, press and release the status light/ button. The status light will flash blue one time to confirm it is turned on. For detailed instructions, visit our article How to Turn ON/OFF the Status Light on My PetSafe® Outlast Fountain.
If you do not get any light on your fountain, one at a time, try a different outlet, wall adapter, and power cord. Test to see if your fountain begins flowing after replacing one, even if there is still no status light on your fountain.
Check Water Level and Status Lights
Ensure the fountain has enough water. If the fountain runs low or dry, the motor will stop and the light will be glowing solid red. To restart the fountain, refill it up to the max fill line. The status light will turn off and the motor will restart.
If your fountain has a status light other than solid blue, the light can tell you the status of the fountain. For detailed information, visit our article What Does the Status Light Indicate on My PetSafe® Outlast Fountain?
Replace the Motor
If your fountain has power but the motor is still not working, you will need to replace the motor. With regular use, the motor will experience general wear, which over time may cause the motor to stop functioning properly.
