PetSafe® Basic In-Ground Fence™ – Flashing Red Light on Collar
Important Information
- A red light flashing once every 4-5 seconds indicates a low battery in your collar.
- Only use PetSafe® brand RFA-67 batteries. Using third-party batteries can cause issues with the functionality of the collar.
- Batteries can be purchased here.

Remove the clear protective button cap by turning it counter-clockwise using the side of the test light tool or a coin.

Remove the battery by turning it counter-clockwise using the side of the test light tool or a coin.

Press and hold the button on the collar for 30 seconds. You may see a light, continue to hold the button for the full 30 seconds.

Gently lift the metal tab in the battery compartment, bending it slightly out to ensure it makes a good connection with the battery.

Insert a new battery, turning it clockwise to lock it in place.

Check the collar for power. Press and release the button, you should see a red-light flash. The number of flashes indicates the current correction level setting.
