What Do I Do When My PetSafe® Brand Wireless Stay & Play® Base Unit is Alarming or has an Error Icon
When you experience an issue or an alarm with your system, you must determine the issue by identifying the error displayed on the top row of the LCD Screen on the back of the base unit.
Remove the collar from your pet and safely contain him. Your system is not currently working.
Reference the icon present on the top of the screen on the base unit.
If there is an icon present, your system is not functioning as it should.
Identify and correct the issue:
- Transmission Failure: Contact our Customer Care.
- Heat Alarm: Ensure the base unit is well-ventilated. Uncover the unit, remove objects surrounding the base, or relocate the unit if necessary. Let the base unit cool down before plugging back in.
- Metal Inference Alarm: Relocate the base. Large metal objects, or appliances within 3 feet of the unit will cause signal interference and the alarm to sound.
- Power Loss Alarm: The unit has lost power. Make sure the system was not accidentally unplugged. If there is a power outage, plug the unit back into a working outlet once your service is restored.
Silence the alarm.
- Press the alarm button on the back of the base unit and unplug the adaptor from the bottom of the base unit.
Even though the alarm has been silenced, there is still an issue with the containment system. You must address the issue shown by the alarm given. Once you have resolved any alarms, press the ALARM button on the back of the base unit for 5 seconds to reset it.
